Back pain

Lower back pain is defined as functional discomfort or pain located between the lower edge of the 12th rib and the lower gluteal fold, which may or may not be associated with radiation into the lower limbs. This condition is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders. A real socio-economic scourge, lower back pain is the leading cause of inactivity and absenteeism from work in much of the world. 

In most cases, its spontaneous recovery is favourable. But when it persists, its management remains complex. Patients may develop persistent functional limitations and require coordinated multidisciplinary care. 

Mostly mechanical in origin, its causes are multiple and progressive.
