"Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Currently, one in nine* women will suffer from this cancer in the course of her life and at ever-younger ages."
While prevention, research, and treatment are making tremendous progress, there is still very little focus on post-operative care. This care is crucial for both physical and emotional recovery, helping you reclaim your femininity and return to an active life. Very few people realise the vital role physiotherapists play at this stage, helping women gradually reconnect with and accept their bodies.
This is why, for many years, LPG has made a commitment to health teams and developed treatment protocols specific to pre- and post-breast cancer care in order to assist patients at each stage of their rehabilitation.

Huber®
Huber360® Evolution gradually stimulates joints and muscles to relieve tension and restore strength and flexibility. It restores the patient’s range of motion and gives them back the normal use of their arms. The patient quickly recovers mobility of the shoulder and is able to perform everyday tasks. Before long, this exercise will enable a return to physical activity and reduce the risk of future problems.
ENDERMOLOGIE® MEDICAL
Thanks to the mechanical mobilisation of tissues, endermologie® medical treatments improve the post-operative recovery period. It reduces secondary oedema and the inflammatory effect, thereby limiting the appearance of scar tissue. Moreover, the different treatment heads stimulate the microcirculation and activate collagen and elastin production to facilitate scarring, minimise pain and restore mobility.
The HUBER 360® EVOLUTION gradually stimulates the joints and muscles to relieve tension and restore strength and flexibility. It enables the patient to regain range of movement and reintegrate her arm into her body. She quickly regains mobility in her shoulder, ensuring a rapid return to everyday activities. Afterwards, this exercise allows the patient to resume physical activity, which is strongly recommended to minimise the risk of recurrence.

Anais, 27 years old, had a lumpectomy and axillary surgery in 2015. After the operation, she lost mobility in her left arm and oedema formed in her operated breast, which caused a great deal of pain. Thanks to medical endermologie® treatments, the patient can now move her arm again. The swelling in her breast has gone down and she feels lighter.

After a previous lumpectomy, Mira was left with a very painful, adherent scar. The stiffness in her shoulder area, near the operated breast, is still very much present today. Endermologie® medical treatments help to decongest tissues and release tension, providing lasting relief for the patient.

At 49, Hélène underwent a mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction using a prosthesis, which her body ultimately rejected. These operations and the radiotherapy produced painful side-effects, severely damaging her skin. Thanks to medical endermologie® treatments, her skin is coming back to life and Hélène is finally regaining hope.

I had a tumour in my left breast and the lymph nodes in my armpit removed on 29 December 2015. After my surgery, I was unable to move my left arm, and my breast became very swollen and painful. Thanks to the sessions with my physiotherapist, I’ve regained some mobility, and I can almost fully lift my arm now. I also regained some of the feeling I had lost behind my arm due to the stiffness. By the end of the treatment, the swelling in my breast had gone down. This treatment took a weight off me and helped me feel much lighter.

After my operation, and due to a lack of information, I went to the office of a non-specialised physiotherapist, who certainly worked hard on my shoulder’s range of motion, but without successfully eliminating the scar pain. After a year of rehabilitation, a friend happened to tell me about a physiotherapist specialised in breast cancer patient care. By working on the scar with the endermothérapy® technique, she quickly succeeded in eliminating almost all of the scar tissue that was bothering me, and Huber exercise restored my arm’s entire range of motion. I’m finally free from the weight that’s been holding me down for over a year! Finally, beyond the therapeutic care, I really appreciated the psychological support that she provided me with throughout our sessions, support that was possible thanks to her specific knowledge of the illness. I highly recommend that all women get to a specialised physiotherapist!

At first, the scars weren’t very pretty and were particularly adherent. The result? My entire arm was immobilised. The endermothérapy® technique effectively works on the scar, releasing it from adhesions and restoring the arm’s mobility and range of motion. The surgeon’s intern told me I would no longer be able to lift heavy objects. I had a hard time lifting my arm and was scared to do difficult things. Using Huber® helped me regain my confidence and showed me how much I could accomplish without hurting myself. Just two months after my surgery, I was back to playing tennis, completely forgetting about my arm.

Endermothérapy® is an essential part of treatment because it uniquely mobilises tissues in a way that’s impossible to achieve manually. Proper use of this tool often spares the need for unnecessary surgery or, at the very least, ensures the surgeon operates under healthier tissue conditions. At the same time, the Huber® is used for overall postural exercises, upper limb rehabilitation, and to support and motivate patients in returning to their professional and sports activities. I’m grateful every day to be able to help these women through this ordeal and to have real therapeutic answers thanks to endermothérapy® and Huber®.

Our work as oncologists and surgeons was initially to remove the tumour, but an essential part of our mission is also rehabilitation. We need to help people get back to their normal lives – be it sports, social activities or their job. Combined with the physiotherapist’s expertise, these new LPG techniques improve the recovery process, heal scars better, and help patients feel good about their body again.

After breast cancer in 2006, I still have two scars: one well above the breast (on the chest), the other in the armpit (sentinel lymph nodes). 11 years have passed and one thing is clear: My scars are hard and form a very unaesthetic crease due to adhesions. As for my arm, it has become weaker (less strength and range of movement in everyday life). The benefits of medical endermologie are noticeable from the very first session. scars improve significantly and become much more supple. My skin feels less like a piece of “cardboard”. With each session, my arm becomes softer, making my movements feel much more fluid. We are now at our fourth session and the results are excellent, both in terms of the sensitivity and elasticity of the scars and their aesthetic appearance. I would like to thank LPG and my physiotherapist, without whom this would have never been possible.
