SCARS & BURNS

A scar is a visible reminder of skin damage. Whether resulting from a burn, injury or surgery, the skin has been compromised and must gradually rebuild itself. Each scar tells its own story and can become a source of self-consciousness, pain, or discomfort that can affect your well-being and mobility in daily life.

Scarring is a natural part of the healing process. Following an injury, the skin repairs itself by producing collagen at the site of the wound. Without assistance, this process can become disrupted, leading to the formation of a hardener barrier that impedes normal skin function and reduces tissue flexibility.

By supporting this healing process, our skin has the ability to undergo remarkable transformations.

OUR SOLUTION

WITH THE CELLU M6 INFINITY® MEDICAL DEVICE

Thanks to their draining and defibrosing properties, medical endermologie® treatments offer an early, gentle, and non-invasive approach to treating all types of scars and burn marks, while preserving the integrity of the surrounding tissue.

The mechanical massage applied to the skin's surface enhances circulatory exchanges (x3*) and promotes the removal of waste products, resulting in effective tissue decongestion. This process also helps prevent the development of adhesions linked to fibrosis.

Additionally, the unique tissue grasping modes stimulate the key cells involved in skin remodelling, boosting the production of collagen (+46%), elastin (+46%), and natural hyaluronic acid (+80%**).

This cellular stimulation reduces inflammation, improves skin elasticity and suppleness, soothes pain, and restores mobility.

Medical endermologie® treatments can effectively treat all types of scars and reduce the need for additional surgical intervention, including:

Recent scars with ongoing signs of inflammation
Old scars
Surgical or traumatic scars
Burns, including grafted burns
Post-caesarean scars
Scleroderma

STUDIES

A study conducted in Hong Kong demonstrated that incorporating medical endermologie® into a standard post-breast surgery rehabilitation programme improves scar appearance, arm function, and overall patient well-being, compared to conventional treatment alone***.

A Canadian pilot study on burn sequelae found improvements in skin elasticity, erythema, and trans-epidermal water loss during endermologie® treatments. Although objective improvements in the treated scar were difficult to assess in such a small sample, participants expressed high satisfaction with the results and regarded the endermologie® treatments as highly effective****.

Mira, lumpectomy surgery

After a previous lumpectomy, Mira was left with a painful, adherent scar. Stiffness in the shoulder area of her operated breast is still present today. Medical endermologie® helps to decongest the tissues and release tension, providing lasting relief for the patient.

Geneviève, herniated disc surgery

Geneviève, who had surgery for a herniated disc a few years ago, is now experiencing adhesions that are restricting her range of motion and causing pain. Medical endermologie®, by stimulating the tissues, improves microcirculation and facilitates healing, leading to a rapid analgesic effect and improved mobility.

Sylvie, leg transplant surgery

After a trauma, 37-year-old Sylvie underwent a skin graft on her left leg, resulting in adhesions and oedema in her ankle. As the sessions progressed, her leg improved, circulation enhanced, and she became more mobile, experiencing less pain.

Discovering the journey of severe burn victims with Julie Bourges.

We met with the healthcare teams to gain a better understanding of the patient care pathway. Under the leadership of Gwenola STER, CEO of the STER Santé group, Nicolas Frasson, coordinating physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and his teams of massage therapists and physiotherapists treat the centre's many patients for complex wounds, burns and amputations.

TESTIMONIALS

After having a skin graft on my left ankle, I ended up with adhesions that limited my movement and caused swelling. Aesthetically, the contours of the graft were also quite visible. As the medical endermologie sessions progressed, the graft started blending in with the rest of my leg, and now it is a lot less visible and looks better. Since some of the scar tissue softened, my leg regained some volume, making it easier to move around and feel more comfortable. The swelling has disappeared, my circulation has improved and I feel less pain.

Karima, 37 years old

One example is that of a patient we had after he was in a car accident. The burns extended to his abdomen, back and both arms. He had to undergo numerous grafts and had axillary bands, which significantly limited joint mobility in both shoulders. We immediately began physical rehabilitation using the endermotherapy® technique. I was able to work on the bands’ tension points and help him quickly regain mobility in his shoulders. We were also able to treat the areas where grafts had been taken and thus help them heal much faster. We had very positive results.
